Southerly Art School

The WEA (Workers' Educational Association), set up in 1915, is the longest established provider of adult education in New Zealand.

Southland Education is a non-profit incorporated society, which is a member of the Federation of WEAs in Aotearoa New Zealand.

We cordially invite you to attend our courses, to enjoy our facilities and the opportunities we offer.

Childrens Courses

Three times a year Southland Education runs a holiday programme called Kidzart.
A selection of up to 12 two hour art/craft workshops are offered to children from 5 years and up. Check this out at the end of Terms 1, 2 and 3.

At Kings Birthday (June) each year Southland Education hosts a variety of workshops with high calibre Visual Arts tutors. This is a weekend of creativity and sharing of ideas and aspirations for adult participants but usually includes at least one class for teens.
