I’m totally stoked to have the high quality and range of workshops available for Southerly Arts. Thankyou for your hard work in pulling this all together.
In 2023 I attended one of the Southerly Arts School’s courses – ‘SWIFTMANTIS – Approaching Realism’, and it would be hard for me to overstate how beneficial this was for me. Not only did I learn a great deal that I hadn’t known before – it was such a kind and supportive environment as well, so a person couldn’t but feel encouraged and inspired.
Later on that year, I was given the opportunity to be part of the great South Sea Spray project, bringing me in touch with so many other exciting and diverse artists and their own unique approaches to art and creativity. Together we set about designing and implementing murals around Winton, over five wonderful, nerve-wracking days. It’s quite something to be painting where people can come and watch you! I had the insane honour and good fortune to have my mural receive the People’s Choice Award and I can honestly say, none of this learning and growth would have been possible without the Southerly Arts School. Thank you!
